Faith Statement

We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament in their original writing as fully inspired by God and accept them as the supreme and final authority for faith and life, now and eternal.(Rom 10:17; 1 Cor 1:18; 1 The 2:13; 2 Tim 3:16; Heb 4:12; 2 Pet 1:21; Rev 19:13)

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (1 Jo 5:7; Jo 14:26; Jo 15:26; 2 Co 13:14)

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Father, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary and is truly God and truly man.(John 1:1-14; Luke 1:35; Rom 5:15)

We believe that God created man in His own image; that man sinned and thereby incurred the penalty of sin which is death, physical and spiritual; that all human beings inherit a sinful nature which produces sin, transgressions and iniquities. (Ps 8:5-6; Ps 32:5; Rom 3:9-12,23; Rom 5:12)

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ laid down His life as a sacrifice to be offered before God in our stead as the one and only perfect offer for our sins and that all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood. (1Cor 15: 22; Phil 2: 6-8; Heb 9:26; Heb 10:14, 18) For that reason we as humans also have to forgive each other. (Mat 6:14, 15)

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus, His ascension into Heaven, and His present life as our High Priest and Advocate. (1 Co 15: 3-8; Acts 1:9; Heb 7:25; 1 Jo 2:1)

We believe in the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Luke 21:27; Rev 1:7; 1 Thes 4:14-17)

We believe that all that repent of their sin and receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become:

· children of God (John 1:12; Rom 8:16);

· Part of the body of Christ and partakers of the New Covenant of God in Christ (1 Co 12:13; Eph 4:5)

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ appointed two ordinances – Baptism in water and the Lord’s Supper – to be observed as acts of obedience and as perpetual witnesses to the cardinal Facts of the Christian faith:

· Baptism is the immersion of the believer in water as a confession of identification with Christ in burial and resurrection(Acts 2:38,41; Acts 9:18; Acts 18:8; Rom 6:4; Col 2:12)

· The Lord’s Supper is the partaking of the emblems symbolic of the Saviour’s broken body and shed blood, in remembrance of His sacrificial death, till He comes. (1Co 11: 23-26)

We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit, empowering and equipping believers for service, with the accompanying supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit. (Mat 3:11; Acts 1:5, 8; Acts 2:4, 33, 38; Acts 8:17; Acts 11:16; Acts 19:6)

We believe that the one true Church of Jesus Christ is the whole company of those who have been redeemed by Jesus Christ and regenerated by the Holy Spirit; that the local church on earth should take its character from this conception of the church spiritually and therefore, that the new birth and personal confession of Jesus Christ are essentials of Church membership. (Acts 2:47; Acts 20:28; Rom 12:5; 1 Co 1:2; 1 Co 12; 12, 27; Col 1; 18)

We believe in the divinely ordained ministries of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher who are there to equip the saints for their work in faith. (Eph 4:11)

We believe in the resurrection of both the just and the unjust, the eternal blessedness of the redeemed and the eternal banishment of those who have rejected Jesus Christ as the only offer of salvation. (Mat 10:28; 23:33; 25:34, 41; Heb 10:28; Rev 20:10, 14, 15)

We believe in the principle of heterosexual relationships between a natural man and natural woman within the confines of lawful matrimony. (1 Co 6:13, 18; 1 Co 7:2, 9; Rom 1:26&27)
